When It Comes To Moving Sellersville
We Don't Horse Around!
Sellersville, PA
The Borough of Sellersville was one of the three original villages of Rockhill Township, first established by German farmers between 1720 and 1730.
One of the earliest settlers was Abraham Wambold, who built a home, a tannery and a grist mill on the banks of the Northeast branch of the Perkiomen Creek sometime around 1738.
Drawn by the accessibility of the mill and tannery, other settlers arrived in the area.
One of these, Samuel Sellers, opened a public house, Sellers’ Tavern, near the center of the growing village.
In 1742, the Weekly Post, a stagecoach line, was established to take travelers from Philadelphia to Bethlehem on Bethlehemn Pike, formerly a Minsi Indian trial.
Local legend maintains that the Liberty Bell was housed overnight in the village to escape the British occupation of Philadelphia in 1777.
Bethlehem Pike, now a busy commercial route, flourished as the town’s main street.
Sellersville Borough is located in the upper portion of beautiful Bucks County in southeastern Pennsylvania, approximately 30 miles north of Philadelphia and 22 miles south of Allentown.
Sellersville is governed by the Council-Manager form of government.
There are seven Council members and a Mayor who are elected by the voters.
This is a great small town in the heart of Bucks County.
