Summer Moving Season Is Basically The Hunger Games 🏹

Every year around late May, something happens. 😧
The weather gets nicer. ☀️
School lets out. 🏫
Apartment leases end. 🔚
Facebook Marketplace starts absolutely humming. 💥
And suddenly…everyone decides they need to move at the exact same time. 🚚
Welcome to summer moving season! 🏖️
Or as movers know it: The Hunger Games. 🏹
Phones start ringing nonstop. 📲
Schedules fill up weeks ahead. 📆
Storage units become modern archaeological sites. 🏢
Customers begin every call with, “This is probably last minute, but…” ⌛
And somehow every move is on the third floor. 🛗
If you’ve never worked in moving during the summer, it’s hard to explain the chaos. 🌪️
One minute you’re moving a college student with 14 boxes and a mini fridge. 🎓
The next minute you’re standing in a driveway staring at a 400-pound treadmill someone described as “not that heavy.” 🏃
Then comes the heat. 🔥
Not regular heat either. We’re talking “the steering wheel could legally be considered a weapon” heat. The kind where movers are drinking water like they just crossed the Mojave Desert. 🏜️
Customers offering cold Gatorades instantly become our favorite people on Earth. 💙
And despite all of this, summer is actually our favorite time of year. 😀
There’s something fun about the craziness of it all. Families getting into new homes before school starts. People moving into their first apartments. Couples buying houses. Businesses relocating. College kids pretending they only own “a few things” before unveiling 73 garbage bags full of clothes. 🥳
Every day becomes unpredictable. 🤯
You’ll hear things like:
“That couch definitely fit through there before.”
“The elevator usually works.”
“It’s just a couple boxes.”
“We forgot about the stuff in the garage.”
“Can you also stop at storage?”
Classic summer move dialogue. 🌻
And honestly? We get it. Moving is stressful. Most people don’t move often, so when the day finally comes, it can feel overwhelming. 😟
That’s why having movers who can stay calm, organized, and maybe crack a joke or two during the process actually matters more than people think. 😂
Because when it’s 94 degrees outside and someone just realized their bed frame doesn’t fit up the staircase, vibes become important. 😎
So if you’re planning a summer move, here’s our biggest advice. 💬
Book early. Seriously. Every year people wait until the last second and are shocked that movers are booked up during the busiest moving months of the year. 😱
Summer calendars disappear fast, especially weekends and month-end dates. 📆
Also:
Label your boxes.
Don’t underestimate how much stuff you have.
Hydrate.
And if your couch weighs roughly the same as a Honda Civic, please mention that beforehand.
Summer moving season may feel like organized chaos, but there’s a reason we love doing it. At the end of the day, we’re helping people start a new chapter, even if that chapter begins with carrying boxes in 95-degree heat while someone’s dog steals our tape gun. May the odds be ever in your favor.
