When It Comes To Moving Malvern
We Don't Horse Around!
Malvern, PA
A unique, small town village located in southeast Pennsylvania, at just around 25 miles west of Philadelphia.
The Borough is 1.3 square miles and has a population of approximately 3,000.
Malvern has experienced significant growth over the past few years and continues to see tremendous revitalization in both the residential and commercial districts.
Malvern dates back to the Victorian era and continues to reflect this in the Victorian facades found in the business district, the Victorian street lamps and the brick pavers.
The area was originally settled in the 17th century by Welsh immigrants who purchased land from William Penn.
Malvern is the site of the Paoli Massacre, which occurred September 20, 1777, during the American Revolutionary War under the command of General Anthony Wayne of nearby Easttown.
The church, trains, and a few businesses were the nucleus of this village, which was known for a long period as the West Chester Intersection due to its position at the junction of the Philadelphia and Columbia Railroad and the West Chester Railroad.
In 1873, the community’s name was changed to Malvern when the Philadelphia and Columbia's successor, the Pennsylvania Railroad, straightened its tracks through the village.
